PROFILE: Gillies Creek Park

Mark Holmberg had a great look at Gillie’s Creek Park a few days ago:

This beautifully quirky and somewhat underground park is becoming more visible and mainstream as Stone Brewing Co. and Rocketts Landing draw more fun-lovers to this ravine supposedly named for the old customs collector at the nearby city wharf.

A planned Gillies Creek greenway for pedestrians and cyclists will also connect the park to the riverside Virginia Capital Trail and the hillside neighborhoods surrounding it.
