The necessary semi-regular reminder on the comments guidelines
Hey folks! I don’t want to host a platform for neighbor-bashing.
As part of the necessary semi-regular reminder, the Use Police for CHPN includes the following:
Abusive comments will not be allowed. Do not be a bully. Do not call people names. Do not be a dick. Don’t be mean. You really don’t have to make the same point over and over and over again. How many ways can I say this? Simply put: even though this is online, please remember that the people you are addressing are your neighbors.

Snarky one-liners are frowned upon. If this is your sole contribution to the conversation, please don’t.
While you are not required to use your real name, you must provide a working email address.
My goal here is to have an online community where everyone feels free to share, without the conversation being dominated by the loudest, the most angry, or the obsessed.
If you have doubt, take it down a notch or two.

The title alone is lovable.
George Carlin figured this out before there was an internet. "The amount of an asshole a person is is directly proportional to the distance you are away from him at the time."
I’m pretty sure that alcohol is 99% responsible for internet trolls.
I think regular reminders speak for the majority of the group. For those who cross the line get a reminder that their behavior is unacceptable. All the stuff we correct our children about in adult form makes it a bit harder to manage.
I wish alcohol could be to blame for that much of it, but I think people are just jerks
A bit sad but had to be said. And will need a repeat.
Unfortunately, the neighborhood has begun to breed entitlement. A lot of the negative comments stink of it. The more we realize that we have to live together, whether we like it or not, the better.
