Holiday Festival this weekend

Join Church Hill residents for the 42nd Annual Holiday Festival Weekend, running Friday, December 10 through Sunday, December 13.


FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10

CHURCH HILL VESPERS AND CANDLELIGHT WALK
Meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 24th and Broad Streets for a vesper’s service followed by a candlelight walk to Libby Hill Park. The Vespers starts at 7pm. The candlelight walk leaves from 25th and E. Grace Streets and starts at 7:30pm. Contact Sharelle Noel at 226-9202 for more information.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11

CHURCH HILL BALL
Dress up in your finest and celebrate the season in style at the Acropolis at 2001 E. Franklin Street from 8pm – 1am! Tickets are $40 per person. Ticket includes music by the Soul Providers, dancing, hors d’oeuvres buffet, and 2 beer or wine tickets. Souvenir photographs, door prizes and a full cash bar will also be available. Tickets are on sale now at Church Hill Herbs, Hill Café, Poe’s Pub, Jumpin’ J’s Java, Millie’s, and Hampton House Interior Design. Contact Laura Daab at 649-2583 for more information.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 12

CHURCH HILL HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR
Come visit some of Church Hill’s most beautiful homes on the Church Hill Holiday House Tour from 12noon – 5pm. Advance tickets can be purchased at Church Hill Herbs, Hill Cafe, Poe’s Pub, Millie’s, Jumpin’ J’s Java and Hampton House Interior Design for $12 through December 11th. Tickets can be purchased the day of the tour at Church Hill Herbs, 319 N. 25th St., for $15. Children under 12 are free and Seniors are $12. Contact Heather Harker at 648-2323 for more information.

SECOND VIRGINIA CONVENTION REENACTMENT
Come see the reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention featuring Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” speech at St. John’s Church (24th & E. Broad Streets) in Church Hill at 2pm. It’s a great chance to experience some of our Nation’s most famous history. Sponsored by the Church Hill Association. Free admission. Call 648-5015 for more information.
