Tricycle Gardens Fall 2004 Update
Tricycle Gardens is a community garden located on Jefferson Avenue between 23rd and 24th Streets. This year was a successful first growing season for the gardens.
This year was big for the the fledgling community garden. On May 8th, the 2nd Community Work Day brought neighbors and friends together for an afternoon of work. The 16 raised planting beds were built and construction started on the fence. October 23rd was the 3rd Community Work Day. The pebble paths were laid down and the garden was prepared for the dormant months. Over the winter, a garden shed will be built as a home to tools and a resource library.
There are two free plots available for use by organizations that work with children. Educational activities geared toward children are prepared. Contact Stacy at 804.241.6242 for more information. There are also plots available for rent for 2005. Contact Susann at 804.648.2322 for more information.
