Sheriff’s Office asks ‘Are You OK?’

Since 1996, the mission of the Are You OK Program has been to check on the welfare of Richmond’s senior citizens who are in poor health and have no one to check on their condition.
Once a week, a deputy sheriff will visit to make sure that the senior citizen is in a safe environment. The visit allows the senior an avenue to express concerns, or to simply say ” I am OK today.” By creating a link between the Sheriff’s Office and seniors, they seek to reduce the effects of isolation and loneliness. The Richmond Sheriff’s Office can assist in the best interests of the senior when there may be no one else to do so.
For more information, contact the Richmond Sheriff’s Office at 804.646.0911.
