A 10-year-old boy was riding a bicycle with a group of children on O Street about 5pm when he failed to stop at the 18th Street intersection and was hit by a van. [via]

What a sad and tragic event for everyone involved. This is a good time to remind everyone we know that rides bikes that ALL laws apply to bicycists (even speeding) and except driving on a suspended license. Also, lets watch out for the kids out there. They may not know better.
From the RTD: State police have released the identity of a 10-year-old Richmond boy who was killed Friday afternoon in the city’s East End when he rode his bicycle into traffic.

The boy, Montel Riley, lived in the 1900 block of R Street. He was riding with a group of friends westbound on O Street about 5 p.m. when he failed to obey a stop sign at 18th and O streets and was struck by a van, police said.
