Corner store granted limited license thanks to community efforts
As a follow-up to Fight This Corner Store and 1,000,000 bottle bags: the store in question has been offered a license despite the neighborhood protest.
Although the proprietor of the convenience store has a period during which he can appeal the Hearing Officer’s decision, if the proprietor accepts the decision he will be granted an ABC license immediately. Word has it that the proprietor faxed his acceptance earlier this week. The ABC license to be issued will be restricted: no wine, no singles beer.
It seems that the restricted licenses don’t happen often, that this is a response to the neighborhood protest. It is unclear whether or not this can be appealed by the store owner. More confirmation on some this ought to be available soon.
Thanks a ton to Ann for being on point for this & for all of the info.
This is a huge vicory for
Union Hill and Venable Street!
Thank you to all who cared enough
to take a stand against 40 oz street
