The RPD’s Crime Prevention Academy is a free nine-hour program that covers a wide range of law enforcement topics, with an emphasis on crime prevention and the many police resources that are available to the public. The next 3-session program meets March 9th, 14th, and 16th with a deadline to apply of March 1. Contact Officer Cynthia Weaver at 804-646-6754 for more information or to sign up.
I’ve heard from 2 people on this over the past few days, so there is some interest and acknowledgment that this is worthwhile.
For all of you Church Hill Residents who are sick of the crime, this is for you. I went to the last program in January. Not only does it give you information but gives you a chance to exchange ideas with other neighborhoods dealing similar problems. I was the ONLY person from the Church Hill or Shockoe Bottom area. PLEASE don’t be one of those people who complain but don’t do anything about it.
I’m gonna plan on being there. I know that 3 weeknights in a week is tough for people. I’ll take good notes and make them available after the seminars.
So I know I said I was going to this and I would take notes… but it turns out I’ll be out of town for work. If anyone is gonna be able to make it please take notes and share them.
