Trashed apartment building ticks off neighbors
06/23/2006 7:43 AM by John M
nbc12 has a story about the problems neighbors are having with a condemned apartment building on North 32nd Street that has piled up trash and rotting food inside and out.
“There’s food, eggs and fish … and dirty diapers outside.” said one neighbor. “The smell is like a dead body, dead dog … or something that’s in there. It’s just a horrific odor.”
Does anyone know of any address for this?
If no one comes up with the address I’ll take a little walk and find it.
I believe that the address is 604 N 32nd.
Here’s the property info from the property search on the City’s website:

This block was a problem for the police for a while then they took a few drug dealers out of there. I think there may be some people trying to make a comeback in the area but the police are doing the best they can. If you see a criminal act, please call the police department.
This is the block that my home is on and that I complained about a few weeks ago in the comments section for a different story! My home is at 609 N. 32nd St. and those horrible apartments take up most of the block. I’ve complained to the rental company over the phone a few times and had called the police plenty on the drug dealing, shootings, smell, and trash that is left all over the place. I got a tour of the homes because I had planned to purchase them with a friend and renovate them into single family to get rid of the Section 8 status, but the smell and state of the those places was too much. I promise that if you take out those Section 8 houses on the 600 Block of N. 32nd most of the East end of Church Hill’s problems will begin to go away (and no, I didn’t say all of the problems!). That block is one of the last strongholds for drug dealing and gangs (not all the people are, but a majority) that I’ve dealt with for four years. Go to the six hundred block a take a look if you haven’t had a chance yet–see what government hand outs get you.
Will,
