We’ve got the same ol’ leaks going on but nothing new. Everybody else ok?
TAGGED: St.John's District
A lot of new leaks for us and it looks like substantial water damage. I made three valiant(if I do say so myself) trips to our roof during the storm to try to get tarps over the side of the house that was leaking… but the winds were too much for the tarps. Oh well… nothing that can’t be fixed.
lots of small branches out of our trees, premature acorns, and soggy ground. Thankfully nothing wrong with our house.
Reporting from the southside
My power just came back on after being out for the past few hours. I’ve seen several trees that were blown down by the wind in the area but that’s about it.
Our power was out for about three hours I think, but came back on around six-ish. Looks like the winds have pulled my roses over, but they seem to have weathered it so far. I just heard a word-of-mouth report that a tree was down (and on fire?) on N. 28th.
All’s well at the houses and very very green in the yard! A few leaks, but that’ll be part of the renovation process. Any word about your bike?
Thanks for asking, John. We had multiple leaks in our kitchen roof, which kept us busy on Friday. We lost electricity on Friday at 11:30 a.m. and it didn’t get turned back on until yesterday (Labor Day) about the same time. So 4 days total. Our neighbor stopped one of the electrical trucks from NJ yesterday morning. The guy showed him the grid that Dominion gave them. It showed us on an entirely different grid; one that had electricity. So the service trucks thought we had electricity the entire time. You’d think that Dominion would wonder why we kept calling to say we still didn’t have electricity…
