Wilder endorses Malone

With only a few weeks left in the campaign, Mayor Wilder has officially endorsed challenger Reggie Malone in the 7th District council race. [via]

“There are council members who just don’t understand their role,” he said. “They think it is to oversee me and the administration.”

He said Malone and Conner support his vision of the mayor’s role as the elected official in charge of city government.

Wilder praised Malone, who has served on the School Board since 1998, for his role in merging Armstrong and Kennedy high schools and for acting as the School Board’s liaison with his administration.
