$40,000 Grant Award from Robins Foundation; new website; other activities…
From Lisa T. at Tricycle Gardens:
Tricycle Gardens is proud to announce a grant award from the Robins Foundation, for $40,000. This grant will help Tricycle Gardens establish itself as an organization dedicated to creating a better Richmond through community gardens. We are currently working with 5 organizations to help establish community gardens in their neighborhoods.
And, we are happy to announce the unveiling of our new website: www.tricyclegardens.org.
We now have a waiting list for the Jefferson Avenue Garden — do we need to start a second garden in the neighborhood?
And, if you or your organization is interesting in learning more about starting a community garden, we look forward to hearing from you!
Congrats on the grant, it looks like y’all are doing great work! I know that I love that the garden is there even though I’m not a gardener.
Does anyone know anything about their waiting list? I was added to the list about a year ago, and I’m curious how long it takes before a plot becomes available.
hey magneto! give me a ring @ 231-7767. i am not sure if anything is coming up, but I will take your contact info, and maybe we can get another garden going, if there is enough interest!
(and thanks john!)
Is it possible to suggest plots for this project? I’ve been trying to purchase the vacant lot next door for over a year and would love to see this become a community garden.
hey jenna-let’s talk! call me @ 231-7767. we could certainly use more space.-lisa t
