A reader asks: “I would really like to rent a house in Church Hill, but I’m having a hard time finding a place. I thought you all might have a good idea of who to contact.” Y’all have any suggestions?

I was a happy renter from Small & Associates (check the ‘rentals’ tab) — Joe Fawley can probably tell you if a few more of their places are due to open up in the near future.
Avoid St Johns if you can help it. They are pathetically slow with repairs. Broken windows and siding falling off the house plauged my place for 3 months.
I agree – avoid St. John’s if at all possible. My balcony was falling off the house, windows were broken and it took months and almost daily phone calls from me for them to repair it.
I rent from Small and Assoc and Joe Fawley has a number of places that he can share with you. He’s great to work with. Here is the web site: http://www.smallrealestate.com/Rentals.htm
A carriage house is available with 1st floor bedroom and bath and 2nd floor living room and kitchen. It is on Libby Park with river view. Heather at Thalhimers, 432-5410 is agent.
Give me a call – I have several things available. Joe Fawley/Small & Associates. 804-343-6865.
what is your price range? my next door neighbor, who owns 2504 E. leigh street, is going to be renting his place 1 or 2 bedroom, completely renovated/restored. i’m not sure when it will be ready to rent, but you might want to call him – 240-624-4904 – he lives in maryland. tell him mary anne suggested that you give him a call. he is looking for a professional or grad student to appease the next door neighbor(not me) and preserve his renovation/restoration.
I see signs on houses fairly frequently when I’m out riding my bike.
My price range is around $1000 a month maximum, unless some utilities are included. Thank you for all of the posts…I’m still struggling but this is helping!!

My old roomate is looking for a new lease holder for our old apartment. It’s at 2400 E. Clay. Front and back porch were recently repaired/painted. New privacy fence in back. Ground level 3BR 1 bath, hardwood floors, high ceilings, plenty of windows, central air, washer/dryer, dishwasher. Similar apt upstairs. The neighbors are great! I still have lavendar, thyme and rosemary planted around the front porch. Call me 804-301-0287 or Joe Fawley 804-343-6865 for more information
