Local hoarder of vacant housing Bayou Properties and its main owner Oliver Lawrence, were recently served with 175 violations on their buildings by the city. Lawrence owns an estimated 100 vacant buildings under various corporate entities, and according to owner listings on Vacant Richmond, at least 20 vacant properties in the Church Hill area.
add 501 N 33rd Street to that list. I have had to deal with some unsavory characters living in that house over the past 3+ years. And this was after the house was condemned twice. nobody has been in it for a while thank goodness.
If I am not mistaken, the “Vacant Richmond” webiste doesn’t just add vacant homes to their list. They simply publish the list of vacant homes that the City of Richmond’s Department of Community Development publishes. So RM, please call (804)646-6310 and tell them 501 N 33rd needs to be on the city’s list of vacant homes. I am doing the same with about 5 properties close to my home that aren’t on the city’s list that should be. Only by taking the time to call the Deprtment of Community Development, will problem properties get on the city’s radar screen. It’s then up to them (and us) to go after the deadbeat slumlords and the absentee owners.
Anyone who knows of any properties that need to be renovated please visit my website. I am looking for properties to renovate and then resell to qualified buyers. If you tell me about a deal, I will pay you at least $500 cash at closing. http://www.CapRichmond.com
Thanks
