Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 gives props to at least 2 neighborhood residents, Hands On Greater Richmond’s Vanessa Diamond and Meals on Wheels Peter Sokol.
Congratulations to both Venesssa and Peter! Thank-you for your unpaid commitment to making our world a better place.
Your efforts illustrate the power of community activism and volunteering. It’s especially inspiring to see so many young people engage in these activities. Your devotion, talents and energy are much needed and appreciated.
Also, thanks for showing that volunteering isn’t just for church goers, ladies who lunch, and the retired – not that there’s anything wrong with that…
Kudos!
Yay V! and Peter of course!
Kristen Kaplan from Hands on Greater Richmond is also a Church Hill resident. That makes three. Congratulations to all!!!!
I believe Starr Foster also lives in the neighborhood, on Union Hill. She is amazing and has done some work with the East District Family Resource Center. Go Starr!!
Vanessa, Peter and Kristen – congratulations and thank you for all that you do! i’m glad that style recognized the three church hill neighbors for working for “the greater good” of our community.
I hope everyone realizes you aren’t in this line of work to make a fortune and i doubt if you experience much ‘down time’ at the office. I hope the STYLE article will inspire more Church Hill residents to donate and/or volunteer for MOW and Hands On! thanks again!
Congratulations to John_m for being named to the Style Weekly 2008 Power List!!!
