12/02/2007 9:14 AM by John M
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Thompson Jr. of 22nd Street celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows last Saturday at the Thirty-first Street Baptist Church. The former Mary White, retired from the Richmond Public Schools system, is President of the New Visions Civic League in Fairmount. Mr. Thompson is a retired designer/pattern maker of custom-made shirts and a former church school superintendent. [via]
congratulations!!
These are two beautiful people whom everyone should know. I know Mr. Thompson better than his wife, as he’s chairman of the Boy Scout Troop 414 Committee. He’s also a deacon at 31st Street Baptist Church, where his lovely wife works. There just aren’t two nicer people in the world.
If anyone has a few minutes, look up their number in the phone book, call ’em up, and congratulate them. It would make their day to know that their anniversary news has been shared with so many people.
CONGRATULATIONS DEACON & MRS THOMPSON!
Congratulations. I do not know Mr. Thompson, but I do know that he is one lucky man to have had Mary by his side for 50 years! She is so vibrant and full of life, and so generous with giving her time and resources to make our community a better place. Thanks!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Thompson.
