Another hurdle for Echo Harbor

Richmond Chief Administrative Officer Sheila Hill-Christian has asked the RRHA to reconsider the sale of two vacant lots that were earlier promised to the Echo Harbor developer. The 2 properties, on a section of Main Street that leads to Richmond Intermediate Terminal, would be necessary for the developer to build a bridge from them over Dock Street to the project for emergency access. Hill-Christian says that the earlier agreement to sell the properties was made without knowing that Wilder and city planners opposed it. [via]

That’s a lot of money.
Especially since the development isn’t even in his district…
Checked out the River District thread that led to this: http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx-context-articles-RTD-2008-01-30-0166.html
Seems Hilbert and Graziano are also accepting contributions from developers and real estate interests. Perhaps Pantele (as well as Hilbert and Graziano) should take a hint from the Obama-Rezko incident and donate campaign contributions from those special interests to charity. Otherwise, shouldn’t his ethics be questioned if he does anything but abstain from any council vote regarding the Echo Harbor project? Or am I just being niave?
I wonder if Echo Harbor is trying to cultivate their own candidate for mayor (as was suggested in the article)
