Changes at the First Precinct
01/07/2008 6:39 PM by John M
There has been a leadership change at First Precinct. The new commander is Paul Ronca and the new Sector 111 lieutenant is James (JJ) Laino.
Well, news travels fast. This is correct, Lt. Laino has moved into the Sector 111 position. I am still here at First Precinct and have moved over to handle the Focus Management Team and the Precinct Detectives. Lt. Laino will do a great job for the residents of Church Hill and I will work with all three Sector Lieutenants to attack any problem areas. Thank you for your support over the past 18 months. It is because of you that the area is growing and thriving. Our Officers are working hard and doing everything they can, but we could not do half of it without your support.
Thanks again,
Jack
Outgoing commander Gary Landis wasn’t on the job a scant 6 months! Why did he leave the 1st Precint so soon?
Isn’t continuity of leadership important to public safety? Why did the police force make such a change? Gary had barely gotten to know the neighborhood.
Thanks for explaining the change in leadership at the 1st.
I would just like to say how much I appreciate all the hard work, sacrifice, and diligence so constantly displayed by Lt. Jack King, and All of 1st. Precinct. (Not) depending on where you live, the sounds of their engines and sirens serves as a reminder of their ever presence-watching over our beloved “Hill”. I know, I know – I’ll probably draw some blogs about cruisers speeding through the streets, and noisy sirens “at all hours”.Ahhh, but that’s just it my fellow urbanites (Yuppies, Yippies,Black,White & Dog collars, etc.).THEY ARE OUT THERE while we enjoy the comfy, familiar and SAFE confines of our abodes. Our own Sector 111 is one of the MOST celebrated/decorated in the CITY. These accolades don’t come w/o alot of hard work, and cooperation/interaction w/ the citizens; Lt. Jack King being an outstanding example. But I drone on…please just say a hearty “Thanks” when you catch up to “one of ours” on OUR streets .
