Villas at Oakwood update

In the past 9 months, 25 of the units in the Villas at Oakwood have sold and another 25 are under contract. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom brick condos sell for $76,900-$101,500. The 319 condo complex is across the street from Oakwood Cemetery and up the hill from the East End Landfill, at “what used to be the home of the Hilltop Apartments, a drugand violent-crime-plagued complex that closed in the late 1990s”. It would really help to have a buffer of evergreen trees between the landfill and the homes. It’s a simple way to improve the area that would cost very little.
I don’t know where to put this. But, there needs to be a thread about Accapella closing. It will be missed greatly.
What happened (to Accapella’s)? I heard there were financial problems. It closed so suddenly.
does anyone have a picture of what they looked like before the remodel. Some people still associaate this with a demilitirtized zone
Oakwood Villas is a beautiful area that I personally patrol 3 nights a week as a Richmond Police Officer. I vividly remember 20 years ago that area was extremely drug stricken. Now its a wonderful part of Churchill where I would have no problem raising my son and daughter. Don’t miss out!!!!
I purchased a two-bedroom condo as a second home at the Villas@Oakwood. I was one of the first people to buy in the complex. I am at the Condo often and love it. I also remember the area when it was “undesirable”! The condos are beautiful, the area is lovely and on its way up(the new mall less than 10 mins away is proof) and I am extremely happy with my decision to buy in this condo complex. Owner

Congratulations! I remember most of Church Hill from 15 years ago… a lot of it has changed for the better. Have they been selling fairly well and do you have a lot of neighbors as company?
I would never rent or buy a property from this place, management is horrible and disrespectful and they never repair anything. They do keep the grass cut on a daily basis…….
