a very tiny slice of Mexico on 25th Street

Curiosity about the ongoing activity next to the new restaurant yet to open on 25th Street be sated: Cannes-bound Lucas Krost is producing and creating the visual effects for the movie Border Town, and some of the scenes are being filmed in the store front there. Look for them on Monument Avenue tomorrow…
Hmmm… Mexico in Richmond… interesting concept. How our borders are shrinking! 🙂
But odd that one of the crew said he was from a local outfit?
Eric
The movie, being filmed by a local organization, is set along the Mexican border.
I though (may be daydreaming) saw some previews for this movie and looked interesting. Still think it odd that a local group is shooting a major film?
I also read that Richmond is now hard up to get major studios to come back in as they want too much money and extras for letting them shoot here as opposed to other cities who are just glad to have them there.

I’ve been wanting to buy that building and use it to sell Pulled Pork Tacos. How good does that sound? Like really freaking good.
Hmmm.. Thinking back on that night, this might explain the three guys rolling/pushing an upright piano down the 400 block of 27th St. around 10pm, with a van trailing behind them. That was a head scratcher!

The website for Border Town is up; Richmond premiere some time next month.
