Patrick Henry’s Pub gets some lovin’
07/18/2008 8:26 AM by John M
Ginger Warder visits Patrick Henry’s Pub for richmond.com and has some great things to say:
Chef Nicolai Creatore, formerly of Millie’s, has created a true pub menu with affordable, approachable food that harks back to his Italian roots and cooking lessons from his mother. […] Two of Creatore’s specialties that are already creating a buzz in the neighborhood are his Calamari appetizer and White Wine Garlic Mussels. The secret to his calamari is what he calls the “60-second Sicilian sautée” with basil, mint and shallots in a roasted garlic and white wine reduction, as opposed to the traditional fried version.

Went for dinner last night and had yet another wonderful meal! This place is the BEST!!!! The waitress said the ABC inspector was coming in today so hopefully (fingers crossed) they will be serving in the next few days! We can’t wait to go back and enjoy a nice cold beer or bottle of red with dinner!
Congratulations!!!
Nicolai’s gnocchi is amazing too. You guys deserve good reviews.
Nic makes great food…
I’ve eaten here 4 times now! Once it was twice in one day! I’m working my way throught the menu! Calamari is outstanding! Not the normal ho-hum fried up and dipped in played out marinara. But an incredible melt in your mouth, I’ll have another please, affair! The NY. Strip Sandwich is about enough to make you want to lick your plate & then the lavendar creme brule!!! (sp?) Thank you for opening such a comfy & delicious spot!
I ate here over the weekend and the food was phenomenal. I will certainly be back again and often!
Welcome to the neighborhood! Have not been there yet! Very much looking forward to the experience! Good Luck!
