East End Fellowship is hosting a neighborhood block party on August 31 at 4PM at the intersection of Oakwood Ave., Chimborazo Blvd. and Q St (adjacent to Mari’s Mini Mart). There’s going to be great music from some local bands, lots of good food and a moon bounce for kids. Come out and get to know your neighbors and celebrate the diversity of our community on Labor Day weekend.

First day of school at Bellevue went well. My daughter got her favorite teacher and there are only 13 students in her class -I can’t complain. Met some new faces and was glad to see those from the previous year. I’ve started recruiting for PTA and fundraising…it looks like it will be a good year.
If you would like to support your neighborhood school, please come to our next PTA meeting, September 8th, Monday, 5:30pm. All are welcomed -neighbors, local business owners, etc.
speaking of calendars…
Is High on the Hog forever defunct here in the Hill? How sad if so.
