History of Civil Rights Movement in Richmond
12/10/2008 6:07 AM by John M
A look at the Civil Rights Movement in Richmond, from a series of lectures on Black history, culture and related issues being presented at the Family Resource Center as a collaboration between VCU’s Department of African American Studies, Richmond’s Slave Trail Commission, the Family Resource Center, the Elegba Folklore Society and the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences. TONIGHT 7PM @ East District Family Resource Center (2405 Jefferson Avenue).
The photo above is lifted shamelessly from the Valentine History Center’s page about the exhibit Battle for the City: The Politics of Race 1950-1970. Open since last April 4, this stunning show is still up through January 31, 2009.
