tax relief info for the elderly and disabled
02/13/2009 7:16 AM by John M
Property tax relief is available to qualifying elderly and disabled individuals. The completed form is due by March 31 unless it is a first-time hardship case – in which it would then be due by June 15.  The basic guidelines are for seniors over the age of 65, or have been declared totally disabled, and who have a gross family income of less than $50,000 and gross assets, not counting the residence of less than $200,000. The forms are available online, at local libraries, and through Council offices.

John,
Thanks for posting. This is an important program, and Mayor Jones’ office has joined Council in embracing it. The Fourth District meeting this week was devoted to this program, and we had more than 100 residents.
