Save Richmond on The Robinson’s New Legs
02/15/2009 9:03 AM by John M
Don Harrison at Save Richmond has, in The Robinson’s New Legs, put together a comprehensive look at the new/old neighborhood theater and cultural space. A fantastic read if for no other reason than the “ten things you should know about the great Mr. Bojangles”:
2. His name was actually Luther, not Bill. He and his younger brother exchanged first names during their youth  reportedly after a bloody fist fight.
[…]
5. Among his many achievements, he broke the world record for running backwards. His record setting time of 8.2 seconds for the 75-yard dash has never been equaled.
That time of 8.2 seconds over 75 yards is virtually impossible. That would be faster than most of today’s WORLD CLASS sprinters could cover that distance going FORWARD.
Ain’t legends grand?
