Cabana at Que Pasa to bring early morning coffee to 25th Street
02/17/2009 10:45 PM by John M
Still lament the passing of the coffee shop on Jefferson Avenue? Keep your eyes open for the grande opening of the Cabana at Que Pasa, slated to open Monday at 6AM. Still the same restaurant open for dinner-only through the week, a new coffee shop will be using in the same space as Que Pasa at 25th and M Streets during the day.

I like it.
My only problem with Jumpin J’s was that they weren’t allowed to open until I was already at work. I look forward to getting a good cup of coffee on my way into the office. Captain Buzz’s is fine, but a little out of my way in the morning.
I love it! Weekend, too???
Oh. It will be nice to have another place to study within walking distance.
What a creative way to use a valuable commercial space. I imagine there will be some challenges in managing two unique businesses in one space, but I wish them both much luck. I am a big fan of Buzzy’s, but it could use a little competition.
speaking of the former Jumpin’ J’s what is going on with that space? Last fall they began renovation and all work has stopped. It looks like nothing has been done in at least 2-3 months.
I haven’t been to Que Pasa in awhile. Stopped going because the food started to taste like leftovers. I can do that at home.
Went Monday night for dollar burger night. Excellent food, great atmosphere (winter fire rolling) and the place was packed when we were leaving around 7.30. Glad to see a thriving business.
Cool! I hope the morning food is just as good as the evening food.
Me and mah homies will be there every Wednesday morn.
Cain’t wait.
I just read about the awesome chocolate cake on richmondmagazine.com — wonder if you would be able to get that with your coffee, or would the menus have no crossover?
Is there any potential of selling Cuban pastries. I would be so happy to be able to buy a good pastelito within walking distance.
I stopped by Que Pasa for some coffee on the way to work this morning. The dark coffee was great and the service was outstanding. Like many of our neighbors, I miss Jumping J’s and I am anxiously awaiting Dillard’s next tenant.
Que Pasa is quickly filling that void left by Je’s absence and I’m looking forward to stopping by as a part of my morning routine!
Was there last night with a friend to share a piece of cake and enjoy a drink by the fire.
Great place, nice accocmodating staff and the decor (wood work) is awesome. We’ll be BACK!
They are now doing $1 burgers on Mondays, $1 pizza (quesadilla style) on Tuesdays.
