ACORN tax credit workshop

ACORN will be holding their annual Tax Credit Workshop on Saturday, March 28, from 9AM-noon at the St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Find out how you can take advantage of state and/or federal rehabilitation tax credits in the renovation of your historic home. Guest speakers will include the Virginia Department of Historic Resources’ tax credit specialist Chris Novelli, and ACORN tax credit consultant Karri Richardson.

Affordable Housing Week Kick Off Bus Tour and Party

Come on out for the Affordable Housing Week Kick Off Bus Tour and Party on March 29 for a behind the scenes look at what Richmond’s own housing non-profits are doing to make Richmond a force in affordable housing. Buses leave from the Main Street Station parking lot at 3PM and return at 5PM. Stay after for a party at Main Street Station with food, beverages and live jazz.

Church Hill Dog Park volunteer work party

Has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 4th beginning at 9am. The rain this week and throughout the weekend has put a damper on things.

BHC 20th Anniversary Celebration

BHC will host its 20th Anniversary Celebration at the site of its next major revitalization initiative: H. Beckstoffer’s & Sons lumber mill in historic Church Hill (1208 N. 28th Street). As part of the celebration, BHC will recognize individuals and organizations who have exhibited extraordinary leadership in promoting the fundamental pillars of sustainability.

Better Housing Coalition’s Community Day

@ the former Beckstoffer’s Lumber Mill at 28th and R Street – Our goal is to bring together community organizations that serve the residents of the East End to increase awareness of the wide array of services that are available. Additionally there will be a host of fun activities for children and refreshments will be available. Guided tours of the lumber mill will be conducted. Please feel free to join us.
