CHA Giant Yard Sale

@ Libby Hill Park – Come on over, set up your stuff, and sell it to your neighbors! The big yard sale in Libby Park, affectionately known as the “Gargantuan and All Overshadowing All Church Hill Yard Sale”, will be held, Saturday, June 13 starting at 8AM.

2009 Summer Reenactment Series

The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to bring your friends and family to a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”

Tickets are handed out on a first come, first served basis starting at 1:00pm. At 1:30pm, there is a music program on the 1905 Stein organ. The reenactment begins at 2:00pm.

@ Jefferson Park – The first of our summer picnics is nearly upon us and it is going to be an amazing time! After much anticipation, the Friends of Jefferson Park and the City of Richmond Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities will be unveiling the plans for restoration of OUR park’s hillside stairs and bandstand. We will be one step closer to making Jefferson Park the jewel of the City that we know it can be! The festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. on June 17th at Jefferson Park.

Following the presentation, the Union Hill Civic Association and the Friends of Jefferson Park will hold a community potluck dinner. Please let Bill Conkle (junkifunki@aol.com) or me know what you plan to bring to the picnic or if you are willing to serve on the social/hospitality committee. This will be a great evening of fellowship and fun as we celebrate our neighborhood.

Here are some of the things we need in addition to side dishes (potato salad, mac and cheese, etc.): Gas Grill, Sodas, Water, Burgers/Dogs, Buns, Fixings, Paper Products, Tables, Covered Dishes
