VHDA Homeownership Education Program

@East End Library – Virginia Housing Development Authority’s FREE Homeownership Education Program teaches future homeowners how to prepare a spending plan, understand credit reports and credit issues, qualifying for a mortgage loan, choosing the right home and more. Yard Sale @ Neighborhood Resource Center

2009 Summer Reenactment Series

The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to bring your friends and family to a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”

Tickets are handed out on a first come, first served basis starting at 1:00pm. At 1:30pm, there is a music program on the 1905 Stein organ. The reenactment begins at 2:00pm.

Begins @ dark. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities kicks off 2009 Movie Night in the Park with a showing of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa at Jefferson Hill Park. Pride will be shown July 24 at Fulton’s Powhatan Community Center and Iron Man will be at at Armstrong on August 22. The shows will begin around dark.
