Church Hill Activities and Tutoring is hosting its first ever Mega Yard Sale from 8 AM – 2PM At the Lighthouse (601 N 31st Street). There will also be food and car washes for sale. All proceeds will go to benefit the CHAT summer programs.

Goonies at Chimborazo Park

Not to be outdone by our neighbors to the west in Jefferson Park, Friends of Chimborazo Park is proud to announce the upcoming showing of THE GOONIES on Saturday July 11.

Festivities begin around 8 PM and the movie starts when dark. Patrons are invited to bring food & drink, friends, and something to sit on and join us in the watching of this family friendly adventure movie.

2009 Summer Reenactment Series

The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to bring your friends and family to a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”

Tickets are handed out on a first come, first served basis starting at 1:00pm. At 1:30pm, there is a music program on the 1905 Stein organ. The reenactment begins at 2:00pm. These events are free and open to the public. Please call 804-648-5015 for more information.

Peep This! @ Byrd Theater

Design Day for Chimborazo Playground

Kids will get creative and draw pictures of their “dream playground”. We hope to have as many kids there as possible. Afterwards, parents and other community members will work with the KaBOOM team to turn dream into reality and design the playground, selecting equipment, and discussing side projects, like possible plantings/landscaping, etc.
