As the temperature rises so do lawnmower thefts
07/14/2009 9:05 AM by John M
nbc12 has the word on a season rash of lawnmower thefts:
For five weeks in a row, lawnmowers have been stolen from homes in Richmond’s East End. That includes the neighborhoods of Fulton, Oakwood, Union Hill, and Church Hill. […] The woman they call “Auntie” Chetta says, in Church Hill, there’s a lotta talk about missing lawnmowers.
“They going around, breaking in, and they’re scoping out the area,” said Chetta.
Since May 28, thefts have been reported twice on the 200 block of Fenton Street, and once each on the 3100 block of Q Street, 800 block of Jessamine Street, and the 2200 block of Venable Street.
Be safe neighbors! Keep your lawnmower in your kitchen like I do. 🙂
If you are missing a lawnmower, check at the “car wash” at 25th and Main. They have lots of lawnmowers for sale.
J #2, yea, I’ve been wondering about that, too. The sign says it is John’s Small Engine repair, but during the evenings there’s a car wash (licensed to do business? I’m wondering, since it seems to only sprout up after normal business hours) and this weekend, there were LOTS of lawnmowers…..
