UHCA & CHA picnic tonight at Reed Square
07/21/2009 1:51 PM by John M
The joint Union Hill Civic Associaion and Church Hill Association potluck picnic is tonight at 6:30PM at Reed Square (on 26th Street between Franklin & Grace Streets). In addition to lawn chairs or blankets for seating, organizers are asking that you bring a dish to coincide with the first letter of your last name: Main Dish: A-I, Dessert: J-M, Side Dish: N-Z.
Thanks to all who organized and participated in this yesterday evening. I know I had a great time! Thanks again!
Big success for all the folks (150+) at the joint picnic, no matter which side of Broad they came from or where they live in the greater Church Hill area.
Jody Rathgeb of the CHA deserves thanks from the whole neighborhood for putting on such a great event. I was ecstatic to see such a huge turnout from Union Hill folk and I really enjoyed having the two groups together. We Union Hillers have a lot to learn from the experiences of our CHA neighbors and this was a wonderful opportunity to swap stories and build new relationships with them. I’m already looking forward to the joint National Night Out on August 4th at Jefferson Park.
Thanks to our Church Hill neighbors for hosting such a grand picnic. I especially enjoyed the setting in Reed Square-what a wonderful space for a neighborhood gathering. We look forward to seeing everyone in Jefferson Park on August 4th.
