CAHN’s 4th Annual Live Healthy Block Party

Capital Area Health Network is inviting you and your friends and families to our 4th Annual Live Healthy Block Party on Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 10AM to 3PM at the Ethel Bailey Furman Memorial Park located beside George Mason Elementary. (813 N. 29th Street-Historic Church Hill)

*FREE Kiddie Rides including a Water Slide!
*FREE face painting and balloons

2009 Summer Reenactment Series

The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to bring your friends and family to a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”

Tickets are handed out on a first come, first served basis starting at 1:00pm. At 1:30pm, there is a music program on the 1905 Stein organ. The reenactment begins at 2:00pm. These events are free and open to the public. Please call 804-648-5015 for more information.

Church Hill Walking Tour

Examine 19th century architecture and modern revitalization efforts in Richmond’s oldest intact neighborhood. Developed by Major William Mayo, Church Hill is home to St. John’s Church, where Patrick Henry made his famous speech, and the city’s largest number of antebellum structures.

Meet your guide at Patrick Henry Park across from St. John’s Church, E. Broad and 24th streets. $10 (Pay your guide on the day of the tour. ) Members: $5
