Speaker, sponsors announced for Tricycle Gardens First Annual Harvest Dinner

The speaker and sponsors of the Tricycle Gardens First Annual Harvest Dinner have been announced:
We’re partnering with several Richmond chefs from the city’s top eateries–Kuba Kuba, Millie’s, Kitchen 64, Mama Zu’s, Rowland Fine Dining, among others–to prepare in-season, local menu items for a huge buffet dinner celebrating our community and urban agriculture. There will be a cash bar, sustainable agriculture speaker Bev Eggleston, founder of EcoFriendly Foods and music for entertainment and dancing.
Location: Church Hill’s Historic Robinson Theatre (Q Street at North 29th Street)
Date: Saturday, October 3, 2009 6-10pm
Tickets: $50

Very said I will be out of town for this event. I love the idea!
I like the idea of being able to try food from all of those restaurants mentioned at one event, and enjoy going to those places.
Not sure where the $50 fee is going… where is this going? I think it should be put toward something constructive for the community. Although some people can afford a $50 per person tab, it’s dubious whether residents nearby would be willing to shell that out on a dinner.
It seemed neat at first, but then realized things like that at the theatre should be more affordable for the community.
And I’m not Laura Daab, though we live close by…
