Richmond’s Unhealed History

Richmond Hill presents “Richmond’s Unhealed History,” 1607-2009, nine lectures on the history of Richmond, on Tuesday nights from September 22 to November 17 at 7:30 p.m. The lectures are by the Rev. Ben Campbell,

Oakwood/Chimborazo Civic Association

The newly formed Oakwood/Chimborazo Civic Association will be having their initial meeting on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30PM at the Boys and Girls Club at 3701 R Street. The group is working to re-establish this association to help improve the community. Please come prepared to discuss changes to the neighborhood, future elections and the association structure.

CAR Task Force

The Richmond City Council C.A.R. Task Force will facilitate a public discussion on the Commission of Architectural Review (CAR) at the Richmond City Council Chambers. Issues that were raised by attendees at the first public hearing in June, hosted by the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods and the Historic Richmond Foundation, have been noted by City of Richmond staff and provided to the City Council C.A.R. Task Force.

Subsequent meetings of the Task Force are planned on the first Thursday of each month through February 2010.
