Better Housing Coalition drops prices on new and renovated houses
09/30/2009 4:01 PM by John M
Got a friend looking to move the area? The Better Housing Coalition has dropped the prices on many of their houses for sale in Church Hill including 976 and 1000 North 26th Street, 2008 Fairmount Avenue (seen above), and 1211 and 1213 North 30th Street.
I live in a BHC house, and have friends in other BHC houses, and I HIGHLY recommend them to interested buyers. They do quality work, and the homes are beautiful.
You can actually see pictures, including the inside of the home above, at http://bhchomes.org/properties/homes.
I’d be happy to share more with anyone who’s looking to buy. I’m loving my house, and I only have it because of BHC.
I also recommend them.
I, too, am a BHC buyer. I can’t even begin to thank them for the wonderful work they did on my house and the tremendous job of rejuvenating the neighborhood. I HIGHLY recommend them, too.
I Hope the Jones Administration will not defund BHC. See Style Magazine this week. Apparently the new guy in town wants to take money from programs such as BHC and make loans to developers/businesses in “Distressed” areas.
I too, love BHC! Say it ain’t so about the defunding. Time for another petition?…
how do u go about getting a home built through BHC or buying a home through them do they also do financing
Contact BHC at (804)644-0546. They offer many services to help get people into houses.
We purchased our home from BHC 2 years ago. They do outstanding work. They are committed to making Church Hill a better community to live. When you purchase a home from BHC that money goes back into our community so that they can continue the great work they do. Please Mayor Jones, don’t cut off funding to a great organization who is doing outstanding things for Church Hill. They have practically rebuilt the entire block in which I live.
Casey, you need to send a note along to the Mayor. He probably doesn’t check this website out that often. I’d suggest that you include pictures of you and your family with the letter. Put a “face” to the issue and make it personal.

BHC is not the only affordable housing in play:

BHC will help with financing though – they can offer grants to cover closing costs, super low interest rate loans, tax abatements, and other incentives to make it easier for you to finance your first home.
