A Family Affair: Children’s Classics for Adults

10/21/2009 3:30 PM by

In an effort to enrich, empower and inform families, the library is offering an adult year round reading program to introduce adults to books for children and to promote discussions of issues affecting children. During October and November, the Library will “Celebrate Family,” with a series of book discussions lead by Dr. Libby Gruner, Associate Professor of English at the U of R. Two books, Jacob Have I Loved by Katherine Paterson and Somewhere in the Darkness by Walter Dean Myers, have been selected specifically for the discussions.

Registration is required. The first 20 readers to sign up for each event will receive free copies of the two books. Discussions are free and the public is invited. For information call Kerry Phillips at 646-1236.
