Union Hill Civic Association
Wed Nov 18 7:00 pm
The next meeting of the Union Hill Civic Association, dubbed The Food Meeting, will tackle “Securing Access to Healthy Food in Union Hill”. Guests include The Family Market and Tricycle Gardens. The meeting will be held Wednesday, November 18th at 7PM at the Church Hill House (2400 Burton Street).
A recent email from UHCA president Matt Conrad says that:
Access to nutritious, affordable, and (preferably) locally sourced foods is one of the keys to a healthy community. For the residents of Church Hill House and many of our neighbors in Union Hill, the Family Market on Jefferson Avenue is the closest source for day-to-day nutritional needs. Mahmood “Moose” Mohammad, the owner of the Family Market, has generously agreed to visit with our association to discuss ways that he can better meet those needs, based on our suggestions. Additional guests will be announced soon. Please plan to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the future health of our neighborhood. This is also an important opportunity to strengthen our relationships with the seniors living in Church Hill House and to work toward meeting their needs as members of our community.
We will also receive an update on the progress of our Venable Street efforts, the neighborhood watch, and Union Hill’s Old and Historic District designation.
Attendees should bring ID for entry (building policy).
