I attended this meeting and it was informative and engaging. Residents were able to give input on the educational and community programs that the new schools should consider. The consultants, using technology, were able to give immediate feedback on the responses. The responses were recorded in percentages. I encourage everyone to attend the next meetings. In my opinion, because of the way in which they record your responses, it is important for East End residents to attend all of the meetings. For example, we know that the majority of the new schools are going to be south of the River. Several southside residents were present and their opinions and ideas were recorded. If they continue to attend all meetings, their opinions and ideas will be recorded over and over again. Those of us in the east end need to do the same. We have a great opportunity to dream for the type of school we envision for MLK.
I went to the meeting, too, and also found it interesting and engaging. I agree with sburton’s post, and hope that other interested people will attend future meetings.
