Trial in Hollman shooting continues today
01/27/2010 6:25 AM by John M
The trail of Eric Driver in last April’s shooting of Jamall Holman began yesterday and continues again today:
“Eric Driver armed himself because he was angry, he armed himself because his girlfriend’s car had been broken into previously that day, and he had had enough,” prosecutor Thomas L. Johnson Jr. said in his opening statement yesterday on opening day of the two-day trial.
But Driver’s attorney, John W. Luxton, said Driver was afraid for his safety and that of his girlfriend when he encountered Holman wearing a black mask and reaching into a bag for a dark-colored item.
“He thought he was going to die,” Luxton said of his client. “He really thought reasonably that he was in grave danger.”
innocent and due a medal and a thank you from all the neighbors
really, this guy had a horrible choice that day in question…loose his car and be out thousands of dollars and watch his girlfriend get killed, or defend his property and be out thousands of dollars in legal fees and possibly spend several years in jail.
Meanwhile, that Alisha Raisin rushes to the would be robbers home, treats him like a victim, and spreads their propaganda.
Yeah, I love how they had five or six police cars block the street one night after the shooting so they could hold a candlelit vigil for the thief, yet when my husband’s car was stolen, he was told that they didn’t have enough manpower to look for the guys who took it and to consider himself lucky he got it back. I know the cops have a tough job and they’re spread thin, but seriously. Did we really need to take police off the streets for a car thief?
Looks like guilty of voluntary manslaughter with no time or fine according to TV12.

Not a day in prison nor a single fine.
Are you f*cking serious? This is an outrage. He shot the dude MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE BACK. He is a murderer, plain and simple.
Sounds just to me… And it’s not a half bad property crime deterrent. Would-be thieves be warned: you will be stalked down and shot with impunity.
Yeah, cause vigilante justice has always worked great in the past.
“Raise your kids right and you won’t have to worry about losing them”
I know many parents that wish this were true. Life comes with complications. Most try to do their best and hope for the best and pray for the best and then things go terribly wrong. Certainly parents have a responsibility, but to blame parents without understanding all the complexities of raising a child to an adult, is just cruel.
