03/17/2010 5:53 PM by John M
As part of the ongoing book club aimed at high school aged boys and girls in the area sponsored by DTLR, Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, author and actor from the award winning HBO hit “The Wire”, is coming to the East End Library to talk about her memoir, Grace After Midnight on March 30. Teens interested in meeting Snoop and taking part in the book club should contact the folks at the East End Library to pick-up their FREE copy of the book and get the details on participation.

Definitely one of the most memorable characters from “The Wire.” If you haven’t seen it, I HIGHLY recommend it.
I concure Magneto.
omg! Snoop!!! i can’t wait to meet her!
Agree with Magneto and Ry.
Any idea what time she will be at the library? And are adults welcome, too?
I got hooked on “The Wire.” Quality show, they the first few episodes were unrealistically heavy on language. After those, they must have realized people were watching it for the story, not for frequency of the f-bomb.
I loved how it covered several aspects of Baltimore’s situation (drugs, politics, education, media, etc.), since a city’s problems can’t be pinned on one issue.
crd, the past two have been specifically for teens involved with the book club, so I imagine this would be the same. It would be a shame for those teens that spent time reading the book for it to become a time of fans and autographs. They welcome new teens (and any adults accompanying them)who come in to get the books (which haven’t arrived yet.)
The program starts at 4 and adults are welcome, according to the person I spoke to at the library.
They’ll have reserved seating for the teenagers involved, and the main portion of the program will be the bookclub.
The teens will have priority and reserved seating. The book club portion should last about an hour, with time for autographs and photos afterwards for adult Wire fans.
