Citywide kindergarten and preschool registration for 2010
Citywide kindergarten and preschool registration began today. Registration will be held at all elementary schools from 9AM-6PM, including Bellevue, Chimborazo, George Mason, Woodville, and Fairfield Court . Eligible children must be five-years-old by September 30, 2010.

Richmond Public Schools will hold citywide registration March 18 for its 2010-2011 kindergarten and preschool programs. Kindergarten registration will be held at all elementary schools from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eligible children must be five years old by September 30, 2010.
Preschool registration also will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at all elementary schools except Fairfield Court and George Mason. Eligible children must be four years old by September 30, 2010.
Preschool registration will continue every Thursday until June 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following schools: Bellemeade, Bellevue, Blackwell, Broad Rock, Carver, Clark Springs, Fisher, Fox, Miles Jones, Martin Luther King (Round Bldg. A), Munford, Overby- Sheppard and Ruffin Road.
Beginning March 24, preschool registration will be held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following community locations:
•East End Initiative Building 701 North 25th Street
•Parent Resource Center Richmond Technical Center – North Building 2015 Seddon Way, Room 205
•Southside Community Service Center Southside Plaza 4100 Hull StreetParents must bring proof of residency at the time of registration.
Parents must also bring their child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, a physical examination completed within the last 12 months, and an up-to-date immunization record.
Parents who wish to register their children for Head Start also must bring proof of income, health insurance cards and a dental exam.
Preschool registration for children who will be three years old by September 30, 2010, will be held in May at the East End Initiative Building, Parent Resource Center and Southside Community Service Center.Acceptance into a preschool program is based on risk factors and/or eligibility criteria. First come, first served is not considered.

Thanks for posting this! We registered our son for the VA pre-school program at Bellevue. I’m looking for other neighbors that are sending their children to Bellevue. Anyone out there?
Still trying to figure out why folks don’t opt to attend the local elementary. Please let me know if there is something we are missing.
