Caught up on 28th Street
03/31/2010 3:12 PM by John M
We’ve just gotten word of an exciting few moments this afternoon on 28th Street. The way we hear it, close to 12:30 today the cops were on the block knocking on doors telling folks to stay inside, that the block was covered and a suspect was in the area. One of the residents, seeing the suspect hop a fence and begin climbing up one of the balconies out back, yelled out to the police who caught the man that they were after.
Was this anywhere near Grace? The police were camped out on Grace for a while. They took off pretty quickly as I was leaving my house.
Yi’haw! Catchem’ cowboys!
No seriously – good work Richmond Police Department and alert, helpful, courageous citizen.
Was this related to the police chase in the yards behind Broad and 28th that occurred just after midnight last night?
I have the theme music to “Cops” going through my head now. Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha ya gonna do when they come for you?
This was in my back yard on N 28th. it was about 1240AM. I was going to jump off the balcony and tackle the jerk but cops may of shot me. I was able to help pinpoint his location though. It was awesome when they got him. I heard “let the dogs loose!” and then it sounded like the police dog ripped him to pieces. Probably not a good move to hide in a Marines back yard. One more dirtbag out off the hill.
Wow. It’s a little disturbing to know this was happening while I was sleeping a few blocks away. I’m very relieved they caught him.
