As in 2009, Richmond experienced a rash of homicides in April. Of the three of the killings in the East End, two have been cleared and the police say that they have a very strong lead in the case.
Investigators have very strong leads in the April 1 homicide of Tyree Jerard Jefferson Jr. in the Oakwood Cemetery at 3101 Nine Mile Road as well as the April 24 homicide of Jeremy Uzzle in the parking lot at 11 S. 18th St.
In the April 1 homicide of Devin L. Morse at 1820 Creighton Road, Clinton L. Johnson, 19, of the 1800 block of North 21st Street, was indicted Tuesday for murder.
The April 2 homicides of Tarchelle Nicole Daniel and Charles Jackson were cleared by the suicide of the offender.
