Boy hit by car at Fairfield Court Elementary
06/03/2010 6:48 AM by John M
wtvr is reporting that a boy was hit by a car in front of Fairfield Court Elementary School yesterday afternoon:
Police say the boy had just gotten out of an SUV and was crossing Phaup Street towards the school when he was struck and injured by a Ford Taurus passing between the SUV and a school bus. Officers had to break up a fight between the driver of the Taurus and the boy’s mother.
TAGGED: Fairfield Court ES
What a nightmare…I hope he is okay!!
I drive past Chimborazo Elementary every day on Marshall and always particularly look near the crosswalk as I approach. Cars are allowed to park right up to it, and you can’t see an 8 year old behind those parked cars. There is no crossing guard, and it would be very easy for something bad to happen there. That’s a bad spot also.
Slow down people, and be careful!
Horrible!
Though, I would think the boy’s Mother would be attending to her injured child instead of trying to fight the driver of the car.
#2 SEW, my thoughts exactly – when I read it, all I could think of was, the mother didn’t pay attention to the child who was hit, she picked a fight with the driver of the car? I realize the story doesn’t SAY she picked the fight, but if the other driver was in the car, (preparing to drive off maybe?) I came to the conclusion that the mother ran to the other driver instead of her own child….what’s up with that?
um, you all have absolutely no idea what happened at the scene. As a mother AND a victim of a hit and run – these things happen very fast.
