Sector 111 report for May

Lieutenant Laino’s Sector 111 report for May (PDF) is available. Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill:

During May, the Sector experienced a 15% decrease in Major Crime; a 10% increase in violent crime (10 incidents reported in 2009 compared to 11 in 2010) and a 19% decrease in property crime (58 incidents reported in 2009 compared to 47 in 2010). The 11 violent crimes reported included: 1 Homicide, 3 Aggravated Assaults, 1 Commercial Robbery and 6 Individual Robberies.

Of the 11 violent incidents reported 6 have been cleared by arrest and the remaining 5 are still being investigated by detectives. The current trends in Property Crime are thefts related to motor vehicles, copper thefts from vacant homes and thefts of bicycles. This month there were 10 vehicles broken into compared to 16 last month, 6 incidents related to theft of copper and 5 bicycles stolen.
