Anybody lose their methamphetamines?
06/25/2010 8:44 AM by John M
RIchmond Police were called when several small bags of powder were found at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church:
Police used field-test kits to determine that the bags, discovered near the rear of the church property in the 3300 block of R Street, did not contain cocaine or heroin. However, a test for opiates came up positive, indicating the bags possibly contained methamphetamines, police spokesman Gene Lepley said. In addition to the find being unusual for the property of a church, Lepley said, methamphetamines are not common in the city’s East End.
If “a test for opiates came up positive” then it couldn’t possibly be meth — since meth is an amphetamine, not an opiate. What are they smoking over at the Richmond PD?
Gene Lepley was a channel 12 reporter – now he’s a police spokesperson? This is a weird story.
Gene Lepley’s been the police spokesperson for years now. And Mychael Dickerson is the Henrico Schools spokesperson, Corrine Gellar is spokeswoman for the state police…it makes sense if you think about it.
Now how do I reclaim my opiate-laced Meth? I was wondering where I left that.
Anne, remember, the Chinese fire drill behind the Church? Did that guy in the back seat lose something? Uh oh…
::sigh:: As usual, the police have forgotten their basic training – or never got any. Opiates and methamphetamines are two entirely different substances with completely opposite effects on the human body.
Kontra, how do you know the police screwed this up? Maybe it was the media relations person that got everything confused. So quick to judge, huh? Why don’t you call police media relations and ask them about it rather than commenting out of school.
yes – thanks for finding it.
did you also find my knife and bottle of bleach? where can i pick them up?
