What is up with all the mosquitos in the Union Hill area? I’ve been up here 6.5 years and they have been horrible every year. I’ve lived in the Richmond area all my life and never experienced the mosquitos like I have since I’ve been here!
SEW- I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been in UH for 6 years & we get terrible mosquitos in our back yard every summer. WAY worse than other parts of Richmond. I assume it’s from standing water on neglected properties, but I don’t see it when I look near my yard.
Did you notice the amount of trash i.e. plastic bottles?

Bring back the mosquito trucks spraying noxious chemicals. They worked. And if you happened to be in your yard when they came by, you would get high and see all sorts of colors and shapes.
The mosquitos are awful on Churchill! I can’t walk into my backyard for even a second without getting attacked.
Another natural mosquito control is Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), which is readily available at hardware stores and gardening centers as mosquito dunks. You drop them in water (we put them in our rain barrels and our pond), and the Bt kills mosquito larvae, but doesn’t hurt birds, fish, water, pets or humans.
we used mosquito squad about a month ago and have not been bitten since and we were infested
Has anyone tried the “natural” stuff from mosquito squad? Did it work?
