Church Hill Crime Watch updating contact list
08/12/2010 6:00 AM by John M
Still going strong after more than 20 years, the Church Hill Crime Watch has recently put out door hangers as part of a campaign to update their contact list. Want to get a call or email when something of note occurs in the Church Hill area? Call (804)648-2710 or drop a line to CHCW1986@aol.com to get on the list.
As the back of the flyer states, your contact info will be kept confidential.
Hmmm what city is that on the flyer? 🙂
I asked Shelby about that, she said that using stock art cost $X while using custom art was 4 or 5 times higher.
Next time, they can just buy me lunch and I’ll take a nice picture of the city. Maybe some Qdoba.
What sort of things of note? In other words, what is the base event that might warrant a call?
Shelby, call me (or shutterbug John Murden) next time you need an image of our neighborhood for the Crime Watch. Also, you can find the Church Hill Flicker Pool online, and most of those images are free to download for non-profit/non-commercial use (like yours.)
…so much for free Qdoba.
yeah i see yall are doing a great job…..
How many of you criticizing this effort have ever made a donation to the Church Hill Crime Watch? Have you ever called and offered help? No, you sit and critize when an effort is made with very little money. You have the email address, call or email the crime watch and volunteer something besides your opionion
PTG, you’ll receive calls regarding location and times of theft, break-ins, and other crimes committed in our area including descriptions of the criminals. The Church Hill Crime Watch has played a pivotal role in fighting crime and having neighbors watch out for each other. Church Hill wouldn’t be the same neighborhood it is today if it weren’t for Shelby. I would love to see this expand.
Is there any way for Church Hill Crime Watch’s automated phone alerts to be sent out more quickly? I don’t mean to criticize – I just get the phone alerts from CHCW days after the crime has taken place. When a crime is committed, isn’t it best to notify people the moment you learn a crime was committed?
The notification delay has taught me to rely on chpn for timely crime information.
perhaps there is a way to expedite the crime-alert calls? I’d be happy to help out if there is something I can do to contribute.
Does Church Hill Crime Watch have a Twitter account? Twitter could be used to spread the word…
Had an incident next door on Sunday which we would have been alerted about and realized we haven’t received any Crime Watch alerts for some time. What happened?
Eric, have you called Crime Watch at 648-2710 or emailed at the address in the tag that is pictured above? I’ve gotten two emails from Crime Watch just today.
