Lights, camera, action!

A reader writes in with a question:
Just curious if anyone knows about all the lights, camera, action! going on at Furman Park – trailers & “Crew Parking” signs all over, as well as signs for “UP” around city hall east. What’s up?
This has to be part of the Lifetime movie( “Unanswered Prayers”, based on a Garth Brooks song) thats been around the area, right? A conversation at Alamo today led to speculation as to how Church Hill would factor into a *Lifetime* movie: home of bad kid done good, maybe a wrong-side-of-the-tracks love interest, someone makes a bad decision and ends up down and out… Anyone?
TAGGED: question
They are filming a Lifetime movie starring Samantha Mathis!
Darn, I had HGTV on the brain. When I saw all of the trailers and the crews working in Captain Buzzy’s, I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Debbie Travis, Ty Pennington or the goddess herself…..(cue the angels singing sound effect)…Candice Olson. Although, there was a guy who looked kind of like the chubby designer on Trading Spaces.
We walked down and asked around, and between that and Google learned it’s a Lifetime movie called “Unanswered Prayers,” inspired by the Garth Brooks song. It sounds as if they are filming the whole thing in Richmond. Madchen Amick is also starring, which will be maybe somewhat exciting for Twin Peaks fans.
They’ve been filming all over Richmond. I was an extra for them the other day when they were out at Varina HS shooting some scenes and even saw Garth Brooks, who happened to be on set that day.
One of my friends living on 27th has the trailers parked around the corner from her house and she got a notice saying they’d be filming at Captain Buzzy’s and the medical clinic on 25th.
For those that care, the plot is loosely based on the Garth Brooks song. From what they told us, it is about a Dad whose son plays football at his old high school where he used to be a big football star. At some point he sees his old high school flame at the games, begins to reminisce, and wonders if he was really meant to be with his old high school sweetheart instead of his current wife. I won’t spoil the ending, but the song (and the fact that it’s a Lifetime movie) give it away.
It’s set to air sometime in late November.
Madchen Amick? Really? I learn the most interesting things on CHPN! (And I’m not even being sarcastic.) I hope Buzzy’s is getting a decent payout for their inconvenience. It looked to me like most of their artwork had been removed – except for a VCU banner. I hope that stays up!
🙂 Really!

Buzzy’s inconvenience? I wonder who’s compensating all of Buzzy’s residential neighbors at 27th and Broad for the night of sleep they missed listening to a full scale television production continue until 4:30 a.m.?
please they were completely gone at 1:30 stop exaggerating
And again, complainers and naysayers. Let’s not see the big picture of the $$$$ UP is bringing to Churchill, the East End, and Richmond on a whole. Do tell, Oh-Profitable-Yuppy-Ones (this side of Marshall), what EXACTLY do you want?!?!!!
So, I’m flipping through channels, and guess what was on Lifetime last night?
I DVRed it, and am checking it out for Church Hill shots. Just watched two teens kissing and talking about dancing in Buzzy’s, which is a bakery in the movie.
